Caving in Porth yr Ogof
Despite the cold start to this February morning, I was excited to try out Caving for the first time.
Kitted up in an oversuit, helmet & my pink wellies, I was ready to make my way underground. The entrance to Porth yr Ogof was a lot bigger than I was expecting, we walked straight in with the river flowing beside us. I was warned beforehand that at some point during the trip I was going to get wet!
It wasn't long before I was off exploring the different passages & finding some interesting formations along the way. Steff & Jen were really friendly & knew a lot about how the cave was formed. Once I was feeling confident they set me a few challenges. I had to make my way through Lights Out Passage, squeeze through the Letter Box before finally getting a good soaking in the Washing Machine!
I had a great day trying something new & would definitely go caving again!
