Caving Activity Conference
This weekend Sbri Cymru went to Hidden Earth 2011 in Monmouth
Hidden Earth is the National Caving Conference, and brings together cavers from all over the country to share skills, ideas & resources. We attend every year to learn as much as we can about the caving, and to ensure that we can deliver caving as an activity at the highest possible level.
We went to caving discussions that covered a wide range of subjects. They included discussions on technical equipment in caving, mapping and surveys within a cave, adding value to cave trips.
They also included lectures on potholes in South Wales, as well as potholing as a sport in general. Whilst the potholing lectures were aimed at cavers in general, we have gained valuable knowledge and ideas to make out potholing activities for young people even better.
It was a great event and allowed all our staff to catch up with caving friends. The cave community is an extremely friendly one, and it's always nice to see old caving friends.
Thanks to the Hidden Earth Team who put so much effort into organising such a good caving event.
