First Blog entry from Rhian

I’ve both volunteered and worked for the company for the past couple of summers, just gaining some experience and having fun in the outdoors. At the end of last year I went to Steff and asked if there was any chance of a bit more of a permanent job and he came up with this. So I’ve started selling, blog writing, leaflet making, marketing and come summer, going out with groups. The job title he came up with – PA - sounded most general and covered a lot of different tasks.

So far I’ve got over a massive fear and have actually phoned people I don’t know - you may laugh but it isn’t the easiest of things to do. Every call has gone well so far and hopefully everyone will be as excited as I am about the weeks after the exams are over, when we can spend every day outside – rain or shine. Most likely to be rain in this country!

I can’t wait until that first customer makes an actual sale and I can work with them in the summer knowing it’s due to my work that they’re there climbing up rocks, paddling down a river or whatever it is they’ve decided to do. And there are many different things you can do!
